Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences

Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, (IP-ASCR) is the public research organisation. IP-ASCR specialized on fundamental and applied research in physics and material science. The IPASCR team members belong to the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Dielectrics. The Department of Chemistry focuses on the design, synthesis and advanced purification of new organic materials that demonstrate selfassembly. The Department of Dielectrics encompasses a variety of research fields, in particular high-permittivity insulators like liquid crystals, organic-inorganic nanocomposites, ferroelectrics and multiferroics by dielectric, infrared, microwave, time-domain THz, Raman and neutron spectroscopies, but also by calorimetry, optical microscopy, non-linear optics, AFM and scanning probe microscopy.
